Eastern Cape Nomads Golf Club is celebrating their 40th Anniversary in Port Elizabeth on the weekend of 6-8 July 2012.

The weekend will kick off with a cocktail party on Friday, 6 July at the Port Elizabeth Golf Club and will include a light snack/meal.
On Saturday morning, 7 July, all those not attending the 113th National Management Meeting at the PEGC will be bussed to St Francis Bay for a round of social golf at the St Francis Links. A ladies programme to this area will coincide with this outing.
The Anniversary Dinner will take place at the Summerstrand Hotel, which is also the official hotel for the weekend, where E-Cape have negotiated favourable rates.
The Sunday Anniversary Game will take place at the Humewood Links completing, what have been branded, “The Links Experience”.
The Boland Coordinator is Peter Runkel and he will forward more detailed information as soon as we receive it from E-Cape Nomads.
Please book the dates in your calendars – we hope to be a large Boland contingent for what promises to be a most enjoyable anniversary weekend.

Captains Report
Captains report – April 2012
Pearl Valley was recently voted the best conditioned golf course in the Western Cape and one of the top 5 courses in the country.
It was therefore a privilege to be able to play our first Nomads Game at Pearl Valley. It was even more special for those of us that have in the past done golforama duty at Pearl Valley and wanted to grace the fairways just as the pros did. Well that was probably in my dreams as the gracious moments were few and far between.
I think you will all agree that the course was in magnificent shape and we want to thank the management, green keeper and staff our Pearl Valley for hosting us in such fine style.
Once again I want to thank Eugene Cuyler for initiating the discussions with Pearl Valley as well as the management of Pearl Valley for the very affordable rate we were charged. Even our treasurer, Jannie Esterhuizen smiled and that doesn’t happen too often.
Unfortunately the weather didn’t share our enthusiasm for the day and put an early halt to most of our rounds.
I played with Pete Richardson, captain of Pearl Valley and fellow Nomads Paul Kretzel and Jakkie Swanepoel. Pete and I were well underway to take our competitors money when thunder and rain put an early end to our round.
Thanks to the Green Machine, Margie, Auntie Val and Tullishe for coping so efficiently with a difficult situation and being able to get results ready for our prize giving.
Congratulations also to all the monthly prize winners.
We were once again pleased to welcome the National Chairman, Mark Philp to our monthly game.
Nomads, please remember to support our sponsors, both National and Local, without them we would not be able have so much fun.
