Induction Process
- A proposer and seconder of a prospective member must be members of good standing in the club
- A proposer has had to be a member of the club for two years before proposing a prospective member.
- A proposer may not propose more than two members in any given calendar year.
- Two games are to be played by a visitor before he becomes eligible for prospective membership.
- The sponsor then presents his candidate to the committee (either in writing or personally at a committee meeting) to motivate the candidate’s prospective membership.
- Approval / rejection by committee:
- if approved, the sponsor will be supplied with an application form for completion.
- Attached to this form will be an Information Brochure on Nomads and the list of guidelines which explains the Induction process.
- In the event that a visitor is refused membership, his proposer is to be informed and he has the responsibility to advise the visitor of the decision.
- Games played as a Prospective Member:
- a minimum of 5 games within a 12 months period. A crit form will be handed to and completed by a member of Boland Nomads who plays in the prospective member’s 4 ball and which is to be handed back to the Match Secretary after the completion of the round.
- Two (2) of the above 5 games should be played with a committee member.
- During this 5 game process, the proposer has a responsibility to ensure that the prospective member is included in the monthly draws by checking whether the prospective member is available and by passing this information on to the Match Secretary.
- The Boland Nomads committee shall then, at the next meeting after the 5th game, decide whether the prospective member is to be inducted or not.
- The prospective member attends a Pre-Induction meeting with his sponsor to have all the rules and disciplines spelt out and to pledge his commitment.
- The committee should set aside 4 months in the year, prior to the start of the year, where inductions will take place. This process is followed irrespective of the amount of inductees. Example – February, May, August and November.
- The proposer is responsible for the prospective member throughout the above process to ensure the maintenance of compliance i.e. that the prospective member abides by the guidelines which have been discussed with him and which appear in the Information Brochure. The Proposer is ultimately responsible for the member after induction and throughout the life of such membership.
